DIY Cricket Birthday Card Tutorial

Supplies Needed
- Card Base: 110 lb (300 gsm) smooth white cardstock
- Cricket Dies: The Craft Addiction UK
- Master Layout 1: Gina K Designs
- Die-Cutting Machine: Spellbinders Platinum 6
- Distress Oxide Inks: Spiced Marmalade & Mowed Lawn
- Ink Blending Tools: blending brushes
- Printer: Inkjet or laser for sentiment
- Black Cardstock: 80 lb smooth for silhouettes
- Adhesives: Glue, Foam Tape
- Masking Tools: Gina K Design Masking Magic
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Card Base
Cut white card stock to 4.25” x 11” Scored and folded.
Cut a black panel using the large rectangle from Master Layout
Cut a white panel using the smaller rectangle
Step 2: Create Ink-Blended Rectangles
Supplies: Distress Oxide Inks + blending tools
- Mask off the rectangle areas using low-tack tape.
- Blend Spiced Marmalade for the top block using circular motions.
- Mask and blend Mowed Lawn for the bottom rectangle.
Tip: Blend from the tape edge inward for crisp, sharp lines.
Step 3: Die-Cut the Cricket Elements
Supplies: Cricket dies + die-cutting machine + black cardstock
- Run your cricket dies through the die-cutting machine.
- Cut the batsman, bowler, and stumps from smooth black cardstock.
- For a 3D look, layer two die-cuts together using liquid glue.
Step 4: Add the Sentiment
Supplies: Printer + bold sans-serif font
- In Word, Canva, or Google Docs, type the sentiment:
- Print the sentiment directly onto your card white panel before adding die-cuts for perfect alignment.

Step 5: Final Assembly
- Adhere cricket die-cuts over the inked rectangles.
- Press firmly and let dry completely.
- Use foam tape for raised dimension.
Final Tips
This design works beautifully for birthdays, Father’s Day, or cricket-loving friends. For batch-making, prepare your printed sentiments in advance and die-cut silhouettes assembly-line style.
