Two Elegant Handmade Cards Using LDRS Marble Backgrounds

I had so much fun creating these two cards using gorgeous marbled backgrounds, dimensional die cuts, and subtle embellishments. Both cards feature the LDRS Marble Background Stamp as the star of the design, paired with rich Distress Oxide inks and beautiful shimmer powders

✂️Supplies Used

Card 1: “For You with Love”

Steps:
  1. Marble Panel
    • Stamp the LDRS Marble Background onto watercolor cardstock using watermark ink. Add clear embossing powder and heat.
    • Spray the entire panel with water. Then get messy with the Lindy’s powders. Continue adding powders until you’re happy!
    • Using the LDRS Rounded Rectangle dies cut the opening in the marbled panel. Emboss a white A2 card base the with the GKD Swiss Dot Embossing Folder for added texture.
  2. Sentiment
    • Stamp “For You With Love” using LDRS Raven Hybrid Ink and Everyday Sayings stamps. Then die cut with another of the LDRS Rounded Rectangle (sentiment banner) dies. Cut an extra banner and ink one side with Villainous Potion.
    • Slightly offset the two sentiment banners and glue together.
    • Cut the marbled panel slightly smaller than your A2 base and adhere with foam tape.
  3. Finishing Touches
    • Add a few gems using the GKD Pick & Stick Tool.
    • Adhere the  sentiment with foam tape for depth and a polished look.
    • Add to a top-folding A2 white card base.

Card 2: “Just a Note to Say Hello”

Steps:
  1. Marble Base
    • Use the LDRS Marble Background Stamp with Villainous Potion Distress Oxide Ink.
    • Stamp onto an A2 white card panel.
  2. Layered Label
    • Using the Rounded Rectangle dies (one size larger than used on card 1) cut from white card stock.
    • Now we will use the center piece from card 1. Stack them using glue to create dimension.
  3. Gold Embossed Sentiment
    • Stamp the sentiment “Just a Note to Say Hello” with LDRS Watermark Ink Pad.
    • Heat-emboss with Brutus Monroe Gilded Embossing Powder for a bold, metallic finish.
  4. Assembly
    • Attach all the layers to a top-folding A2 card base using Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue.

💡Tips & Tricks

  • Use foam tape strategically to create depth without making the card bulky.
  • Mix Lindy’s Magicals with a water brush to add subtle shimmer to your marbled panels.
  • When heat embossing sentiments, preheat your heat tool to avoid warping your cardstock.

✨ Final Thoughts

These cards came together so beautifully thanks to the stunning marbled backgrounds and dimensional details. The combination of rich colors, embossed textures, and layered die cuts makes them perfect for sending a heartfelt hello or a note of love.
